With the support of "Coca-Cola" Foundation, drinking water supply of Marzandiya village of Shamakhi is being improved
On December 20, there was a presentation of the project "Improving the water supply of Marzandiya village of Shamakhi region" at Shamakhi City Creative Center, implemented within the framework of the "Sustainable Water Initiatives" Program initiated by the "EcoHub" ecological platform, supported by the "Coca-Cola" Foundation, the Global Water Challenge Coalition and organized by the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ADSEA) and Shamakhi District Executive Power.
Tahir Mammadov, head of the Shamakhi District Executive Power, Tukazban Agababayeva, director of the ecological platform "EcoHub", Shohrat Suleymanov, vice-chairman of the "Regional Water Reclamation Service" of ADSEA, Elshad Farzaliyev, director of public relations for Eurasian countries of "Coca-Cola" company, participated at the event held in connection with the construction of a new water line to the village of Marzandiya.
Within the framework of the project, in order to improve the long-awaited supply of drinking water to Marzandiya village residents, it is planned to implement measures for the construction of infrastructure and efficient management of water resources. This initiative serves to lay pipelines for drinking water supply and to improve the living conditions of the villagers. As a result of the implementation of the important project, 1311 residents living in the village will be provided with quality drinking water.
In his speech, the head of the Shamakhi District Executive Power, Tahir Mammadov, spoke about the large-scale improvement and infrastructure projects implemented in the region in recent years, including the work done in the direction of strengthening the water supply of villages and settlements. He expressed his gratitude to all the partners who supported the construction of the water line to the village of Marzandiya.
Elshad Farzaliyev, director of public relations for Eurasian countries of "Coca-Cola" company, speaking at the official ceremony, said that the implementation of projects aimed at improving water supply is one of the main priorities of the company: "With the support of Coca-Cola, the water problem of the village of Marzandiya, which has been going on for many years, has finally been solved. We as a company are proud to support this initiative. We look forward to providing drinking water to the village population on the eve of Novruz holiday 2025. I believe that our cooperation will pave the way for large-scale projects in the future."
At the event, Tukazban Agababayeva, director of the ecological platform "EcoHub", presented the main goals of the project and noted the importance of additional support for the large-scale works carried out by the state institutions to ensure the population's access to sustainable and quality drinking water in our country. She emphasized that intersectoral cooperation plays an important role in the successful implementation of such projects, and importance of the private sector paying attention to the field of water supply within the framework of corporate social responsibility. Tukazban Agababayeva stated that "EcoHub" regularly calls on companies operating in our country to be more sensitive to environmental projects, adding that they are eagerly waiting for the positive results of this initiative implemented in the village of Marzandiya.
Also, Shohrat Suleymanov, vice-chairman of the "Regional Water Reclamation Service" of ADSEA said that the necessary equipment and technical capabilities are fully ready for the implementation of the project: "This initiative is an important step in the field of water resources management and improvement of drinking water supply. At present, the Shamakhi Water Reclamation Systems Operation Department has already started water extraction works in the village of Marzandiya, and the process is continuing rapidly. For the successful completion of the project, both modern technologies and advanced management methods are applied. Our expectation is that such initiatives will be applied in other regions and create positive experiences in water resources management."
