The "One Idea" innovation competition, organized by "Coca-Cola İçecek" for university students, has concluded.

More than 200 ideas were submitted by university students to this year’s competition, which aims to support the innovative concepts of young talent and foster their development within a real-world business environment. Following a multi-stage evaluation process, selected participants presented their ideas during the semi-finals, where members of the company’s executive team served as the jury.

Teams that successfully advanced from the semi-finals took part in a three-day "Innovation Bootcamp" held in July with the support of the BRICK agency. During the program, participants attended training sessions on project management and innovation, further refined their ideas, and strengthened their presentation skills.

Following the training program, the finalists participated in five mentoring sessions with members of the jury and a mentor from the BRICK agency. Following a preparation and development process that spanned several months, the teams presented their prototypes and final solutions to a jury during the concluding stage.

The final presentations were evaluated based on the following criteria: problem identification, the proposed solution, innovativeness, potential impact of the project, and the quality of the presentation. In the scoring process, the project's potential impact accounted for 35%, the presentation for 20%, and the criteria of problem identification, the proposed solution, and innovativeness each carried a weight of 15%.

Based on the competition results, three projects that reached the final stage were awarded cash prizes. The first-place winner also earned the opportunity to visit Turkiye in November to gain a closer look at the operations of the "Anadolu Group." Türkan Manaflı, Head of Public Relations and Communications at "Coca-Cola İçecek Azerbaijan", stated that the competition provided participants with the opportunity to develop their ideas within a real-world business environment: “At Coca-Cola İçecek, we consistently support projects that enhance economic opportunities for young people and help them gaining experience in a professional setting. Through the ‘One Idea’ innovation competition, students were able to develop their concepts based on actual business needs, create prototypes, and present them to the company’s leadership team. A training and mentorship process, spanning several months, helped participants hone their skills in project management, innovative thinking, and presentations. We believe that the knowledge and experience they have gained will make a positive contribution to their future professional development.”

Ideas submitted to the competition covered key operational areas of the Coca-Cola system, including products and innovation, supply chain, manufacturing, sales, logistics, human resources, finance, environmental sustainability, digitalization, and technology.

It should be noted that Coca-Cola’s operations in Azerbaijan began in 1996 with the establishment of the company "Azerbaijan Coca-Cola Bottlers" LLC. To date, the company has invested over 3 million US dollars in community projects in Azerbaijan focused on waste reduction, conservation of water resources, and expansion of economic opportunities for women and youth. "New Generation," "From Start to Smart," and "Recyclathon" are among the projects supported by the company in Azerbaijan.
