At the initiative of the IDEA Public Union, a traditional clean-up campaign was organized along the banks of Kura river and in the area where it flows into the Caspian sea. Volunteers from IDEA PU took part in the campaign, which was held in Neftchala region with the support of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Center of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The volunteers, equipped with sanitation supplies and special boats, cleaned Kura river and its shores of various household wastes, synthetic fishing nets that cause the mass death of fish, and other illegally handmade fishing tools prohibited by law that hinder the natural development of fish in their habitat. As a result, nearly one ton of waste was collected and delivered to the waste landfill of Neftchala region.
The increasing amount of household and industrial waste dumped into rivers negatively affects the ecological condition of Kura river and Caspian sea, as well as the natural development of living organisms in these water bodies. In this regard, keeping the area where Kura river flows into the Caspian Sea clean is of particular importance for protecting the Caspian sea’s biological resources and maintaining ecological balance.
The IDEA Public Union regularly carries out such clean-up campaigns to protect the biological resources of the Caspian Sea, keep coastal areas clean, and strengthen environmental responsibility among the public. These events organized along Kura river play an important role in preserving natural balance, improving environmental health, mobilizing society to protect rivers, and promoting ecological awareness and care for nature among people.
The IDEA Public Union calls on everyone to treat nature protection responsibly, maintain the cleanliness of our shores, and contribute to creating a healthier, cleaner, and more sustainable environment for future generations.
