Coca-Cola presented the report of "HORECA Collection" project
Coca-Cola presented the report of ecological project "HORECA Collection" implemented jointly with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and the ecological platform "EcoHub".
The report presented on March 30, International Zero Waste Day states that the project implemented as part of Coca-Cola's "World Without Waste" program collects and recycles plastic waste from HORECA (hotel, restaurant, cafe) enterprises. The purpose of the project implementation is to promote recycling.
A total of 111,725.50 kg (~111 tons) of waste has been collected within the framework of the currently ongoing project, and 66,207.30 (~66 tons) of waste in 2023 alone.
Elshad Farzaliyev, Director of Public Relations for the Eurasian region of Coca-Cola Company, said that Coca-Cola implements projects aimed at recycling plastic waste in accordance with the Sustainable Development Strategy: "Coca-Cola closely cooperates with government agencies, the business sector, and environmental organizations to reduce waste in the world. This project is one of the long-term environmental projects implemented by Coca-Cola in Azerbaijan. The project has been implemented for the 3rd year and contributes to the recycling of plastic waste in Azerbaijan. I am sure that this year the project will be successful with its results".
It should be noted that within the "World Without Waste" program, Coca-Cola aims to collect and recycle all the packaging it puts on the market by 2030.
It should be noted that with the adoption of the "Zero Waste" resolution put forward by Turkiye at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, March 30 is celebrated as International Zero Waste Day every year. The founding day aims to bequeath a clean and livable planet to future generations through recycling, focusing on the problem of waste.
