UNEC student secures sixth place globally at Microsoft World Championship

Azerbaijan was represented for the first time at the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship Finals held in the United States, where UNEC sophomore Huseyn Shukurov secured sixth place globally in the Microsoft category.

The prestigious championship featured over 310 contestants representing 42 countries. Making its debut at the international event, Azerbaijan achieved a notable result, placing two participants in the top ten worldwide. Nazrin Miriyeva of the Baku Higher Oil School claimed ninth place.

More than 500 candidates participated in the national selection stage. Following an intensive preparation phase, 50 participants received internationally recognized certificates, while the top six performers qualified to represent Azerbaijan at the World Finals.

The national project was implemented through a public-private partnership. The Microsoft track was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, PASHA Bank, and the ASAN Innovation Development Center, while the Adobe track received support from the Ministry of Culture and the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM).
