The winner of the "Media Cup-2026" was determined in Gusar: An employee of Oxu.az became one of the best

The mini-football tournament organized among journalists in Gusar on the eve of the National Press Day of Azerbaijan has concluded.

The winners of the competition organized at the Gusar Olympic Sports Complex by Yurd.media and the Sports Research Center, and under the general sponsorship of "Avrora Group", have been determined.

In the match for 3rd place of the tournament, which was conducted by AFFA referees, the "Ziya" team, consisting of journalists from information agencies, faced the "Hayat" team, formed from television employees. The match ended with a 7:1 victory for "Hayat".

In the final match of the tournament, the "Ekinchi" team, formed from employees of socio-political news sites, faced the "Tereqqi" team, consisting of representatives of sports sites. "Tereqqi" won the match in a tense sports competition with a score of 2:0 and lifted the trophy.

At the award ceremony, the first 3 places - "Tereqqi, "Ekinchi" and "Hayat" - were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively, and all participants were awarded with honorary certificates. The awards were presented by Emil Amirmatov, head of the Gusar district sector of the Guba Khachmaz Regional Youth and Sports Department, Anar Mammadov, director of the Gusar Olympic Sports Complex, Murad Aliyev, editor-in-chief of Yurd.media, Elshan Mammadov, chairman of the Sports Research Center, and Vasif Musayev, an employee of "Avrora Group".

The best goalkeeper award of the tournament was presented to Samir Gulaliyev, the goalkeeper of the "Ziya" team, an employee of Oxu.az, who was injured while making a sacrifice in the first game, and the award for the best player of the competition was given to Murad Shirinov, the captain of the winning team.
