The opening ceremony of the "Volunteer Leaders Development Concept" (KLİK) program, implemented with the support of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the organization of the Azerbaijan Voluntary Organizations Union (AKTİ), was held.
The event, held at the Baku Congress Center, began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Voluntary Organizations Union Vugar Aliyev said that the main goal of the program is to train a new generation of young leaders, develop the leadership skills of young people working in the field of volunteering and reveal their potential.
According to him, the program implemented by the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and AKTİ will last a total of six months. During the first three months, participants will take part in various trainings and sessions, and in the next three months, they will be involved in internship programs and will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in practical activities.
Vugar Aliyev noted that interest in the program was quite high. Thus, during the registration stage, about 1,000 young people applied, and based on the results of the selection stage, 35 people were identified as program participants.
Speaking at the event, Nail Shukurov, Head of the Department for Work with Youth Organizations of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said that today the volunteer movement in Azerbaijan has become an important platform not only for increasing the public and social activity of young people, but also for their personal development.
He emphasized that in recent years, the systematic development of volunteering activities in the country and the successful holding of international events have further increased the role of volunteers.
