Social Entrepreneurship and Employment Center was established in Sumgayit

Social Entrepreneurship and Employment Center has started operating in Sumgayit city.

At the center, people belonging to vulnerable social groups will be taught tailoring skills at the initial stage, and textile products will be produced at the same time. It is planned to increase the number of professions to be taught in the center in accordance with the requirements of the labor market.

The Center was established with the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), State Employment Agency, Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, Sustainable Operational Social Security Agency, "Azersu" OJSC, "Azermash" OJSC, Baku Engineering University, "FORIELLA" LLC, "Ekvita", Baku Textile Factory and "Organization of Disabled Entrepreneurs" Public Union.

Necessary conditions have been created in the center, and appropriate equipment has been provided for persons belonging to vulnerable and disabled social groups to acquire knowledge of the tailoring profession. Training, advice and mentoring support will also be provided to those who acquire professional knowledge in the center to start a micro-business.

Persons belonging to vulnerable social groups who will successfully complete the vocational and business training will be connected with relevant institutions to provide them with appropriate equipment within the framework of the self-employment program at the next stage. In addition, project partners will provide consulting services to participants in the field of business plan preparation, management and development of entrepreneurial activity. Those who successfully complete vocational training also have the opportunity to work at the center.

It should be noted that the Social Entrepreneurship and Employment Center established in Sumgayit is the second center. Prior to that, the corresponding center was established in Masalli and continues to operate successfully. The purpose of creating the centers is to integrate people belonging to vulnerable and disabled social groups into society, to increase their business-oriented knowledge and skills, to develop social entrepreneurship activities, to support new business initiatives, to support the access of socially vulnerable groups to the labor market. It is planned to create such centers in other cities and regions of the country.
