The Football Development Fund is doing a lot of creative work to revive the country's football. The executive director of the organization, Tural Piriyev, told Sport1.az that they are looking for sponsors for clubs that do not have financial support.
He said that they should support teams that have been promoted to the Premier League and the First League, and teams that have recently entered the Second League: "Currently, in accordance with the Development Strategy, together with AFFA, we are working on plans to form new income channels for clubs, increase operating income, and attract sponsors. Of course, it is important not only to form income channels here, but also to improve the structures of clubs to carry out these works. We have plans in this regard. We are currently continuing individual cooperation with regional clubs that are currently in the First and Second Leagues. We have already done some work with some of them. We think that we should support teams that have been promoted to the Premier League and the First League, and teams that have recently entered the Second League."
Tural bey also said that they are looking for sponsors for "Zagatala" and "Shamakhi" football clubs: "On 12.02.2024, a general sponsorship agreement was signed between "Zagatala" and "Music Gallery". There were long-term plans. However, after the changes in the company, the sponsorship agreement ended at the end of this season. Currently, we are trying to increase the number of members in "Zagatala" within the framework of the Business Club project. Along with this, of course, it is planned to attract sponsors. Our action plan includes not only attracting sponsors to "Zagatala", but also "Shamakhi", the only club without a sponsor in the Premier League. Of course, we will not stop with only these 2 priorities. Again, if there are opportunities for attracting sponsors in any region, we will try to evaluate them. Along with this, our work will continue to form additional income for the clubs and diversify their income."
