New business opportunities and government benefits have been presented for female entrepreneurs in Khankendi

An exhibition-event titled “The Power of Regional Women in Karabakh” was held in Khankendi city on the occasion of March 8 – International Women’s Day, with the participation of female entrepreneurs from about 20 different regions of the country. The main goal of the exhibition, organized by Karabakh Training Center, is to support female entrepreneurs operating in the regions, promote their businesses in Karabakh, and stimulate new business opportunities in the liberated territories.
Female entrepreneurs from Khankendi, Shusha, Khojaly, Agdam, Nakhchivan, Ganja, Lankaran, Tovuz, Guba, Mingachevir, Masalli, Gabala, Gakh, Barda, Sheki, and Agsu regions participated in the exhibition. In addition to demonstrating the national cuisine and historical attributes of their regions, participants held sales and presentation exhibition of their business products.
Representatives of the Karabakh Territorial Tax Department, KOBİA, and the State Employment Agency participated in the official opening of the event and established a direct dialogue with female entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs were provided with detailed information about state benefits, tax exemptions and other support mechanisms applied in the liberated territories. At the same time, the management of the Khankendi Trade Center informed all female entrepreneurs participating in the event that special benefits would be applied for renting a facility in the center, offering them real opportunities to establish their own businesses in Karabakh.
Ayten Mammadova, founder and director of the Karabakh Training Center, spoke at the event and said: “The main goal of the Karabakh Training Center is to contribute to the economic revival of the liberated territories and sustainable development in this region. For this purpose, we are implementing a number of important projects for young people and students, such as “Startup school Karabakh” and “Bridge to the Future Karabakh”. Today’s exhibition is an important platform to transfer the potential of our female entrepreneurs to Karabakh and strengthen their inter-regional business relations.”
Lala Efendi, Director of the Corporate Communications Department of Carlsberg Azerbaijan, one of the event's partners, expressed her satisfaction with the opportunity created for women entrepreneurs in Karabakh: "It is gratifying that women entrepreneurs will also have a share in the revival and sustainable development of Karabakh. The conditions and concessions created here also increase support for this cause. I am sure that the prosperity of the region will accelerate with the delicate touch of Azerbaijani women. As Carlsberg Azerbaijan, we are proud to support this project."

It should be noted that the Karabakh Training Center has been operating since 2025 with the aim of increasing the intellectual potential of the region and training professional personnel. The main direction of the center's activity is the organization of advanced training courses, personal development programs, and corporate training in various fields in accordance with the requirements of the modern labor market. The center, which brings together highly qualified specialists and innovative teaching methodologies, serves to ensure the competitiveness of both individuals and institutions.
Initiativs Impact Index (3I) Score = 3.65!
This project was independently assessed by Initiativs using the 3I – Initiativs Impact Index, a proprietary framework that evaluates CSR initiatives across five dimensions based solely on publicly available information. "The Power of Regional Women in Karabakh" received a composite score of 3.65 out of 5.0, placing it in the Strong category.
The project scores highest on Innovation (4.3) – reflecting its novel cross-regional format in a post-conflict context – and Replicability (4.0), driven by the involvement of state agencies and a replicable event model. Sustainability (3.0) presents the main area for development, as long-term continuation signals and multi-year commitments were not evident in available reporting.
