Expressbank has announced a report on its “green steps” over the past year. These initiatives have made real contributions to the protection of the ecosystem and reducing the carbon footprint in nature.
In order to restore nature and support construction in our liberated lands, more than 200 trees have been planted by Expressbank employees. This, in addition to laying the foundations for a greener and healthier environment for future generations, is a clear example of the concept of corporate social responsibility and civic duty in the process of revitalizing the region.
Within the framework of environmental activities, proper waste management and resource conservation were given special attention. Over the past year, more than 5 tons of paper were collected and recycled to prevent paper waste.
In an action to support the protection of marine ecosystem, bank employees collected and removed 300 kilograms of waste from the Caspian Sea coastline with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. In addition, special boxes were placed in the bank’s offices and branches to collect batteries, which are considered one of the most dangerous wastes for the environment. Thus, not only the bank's employees, but also the bank's clients had the opportunity to join this environmental initiative. During the year, 26 kilograms of battery waste, which could pose a risk to society and nature, were collected and sent for special disposal.
In order to ensure the safety of street animals, special cat kennels were placed in front of more than 10 branches of Expressbank.
All the measures implemented by the bank in the environmental direction are carried out within the framework of the "Təbiətə qayğı – Gələcəyə miras" ("Caring for Nature - Legacy for the Future") project. It should be noted that Expressbank, as a socially responsible financial institution, plans to maintain such initiatives as a priority area of activity in the future.
