Entrepreneurs to compete in the "EY Entrepreneur of the Year" competition, held in partnership with ABB, have been announced

The application process for the “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” competition, organized by EY Azerbaijan with the general sponsorship of ABB and financial partnership of BP, has already ended. The winner of the national stage of the competition, as well as the winners in the nominations, will be announced at a gala event on February 13.
This competition has been held in Azerbaijan for 7 years, and ABB has been supporting this competition for the 7th consecutive year. The “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” competition is a prestigious, unique program that brings together entrepreneurs with innovative thinking, a will to succeed and a positive impact on society. Over the past 7 years, this competition has grown into a large community of more than 70 entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan.
This year, participants representing alternative energy, advertising, electrical equipment manufacturing, finance, tourism, agriculture, education, IT, digital marketing and other fields will compete for the title of “EY Entrepreneur of the Year”.
Here are the names of the participants: Bakhtiyar Huseynov (“Eel Electric” electrical equipment manufacturer); Jeyhun Imanov (“Jeykhun Imanov Studio” digital marketing, branding and design agency); Elgar Baghirov (“Times Consulting” advertising agency); Elmira Ismayilova (“Best Place Restaurant & Jazz Club”, public catering and entertainment services); Elshad Abbasov (“Embafinans”, non-bank credit organization); Fahri Mammadli (“Fahri Travel” travel agency); Gunay Mustafayeva (“MedLife Hospital” medical institution); Ilyas Ahmadov and Mehri Ahmadova (“We grow” blueberry manufacturer); Konul Guliyeva (“Safavy” online education platform); Orkhan Mammadov (“Green Life Engineering” alternative energy solutions); Murad Hasanov (“Clopos” IT solutions provider); Mushfig Huseynov (“AZSAFFRON” saffron and saffron-containing product manufacturer); Novruz Ismayilov (“Mangal coal No. 1” hazelnut shell-based coal manufacturer); Rashad Abbasov (“Neutron” Radiation safety/consulting); Rufat Babakishiyev (“Crocusoft”, a provider of software, mobile applications and IT solutions); Samir Karimov (“APAR” bicycle rental service); Seymur Allahverdiyev (“Amazon Travel”, a travel agency); Ulvi Aslanov (“Code Academy” educational institution); Vugar Babayev (“Lider Development”, a provider of CRM/ERP solutions/apartment building management platform).
The winner of the competition will be determined by an independent jury based on the criteria of entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, impact and development.
The jury consists of well-known and influential representatives of the business world:
Aliya Azimova - Head of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Permanent Representative Office in Azerbaijan
Afghan Isayev - Vice President of SOCAR
Mir Jamal Pashayev - Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of PASHA Holding
Gustaf Nobel - CEO of Conversus
Teyba Guliyeva - Regional Representative of Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Bank
The program's partners include APFM, “Finansist” magazine, the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan - AZPROMO and EKVITA.
The winner of the national stage will obtain the right to represent our country at the “EY Global Entrepreneur of the Year” competition to be held in Monaco in May.
