COP29 Volunteers organized a cleanup campaign called "Recycling Activists"

On August 15, COP29 volunteers held another cleaning action under the name "Recycling activists" in one of the parks located in Bakikhanov settlement of Sabunchu district of Baku. During the action, volunteers cleaned the park area and handed over the collected household waste to "Tamiz Sheher" OJSC for recycling.

As part of the environmental action, volunteers held an educational conversation with residents resting in the park about the importance of maintaining public cleanliness and improving the ecological condition of city parks. The volunteers also informed residents about the COP29 conference to be held in Baku in November this year and answered their questions.

The environmental event continued with an introduction to the waste management activities of "Tamiz Sheher" OJSC. More than 230 kilograms of different types of solid household waste collected as part of the campaign were handed over by volunteers to the Solid Household Waste Sorting Plant for further processing. Volunteers who visited the facility received useful information about proper waste management practices, modern processing systems and trends, and were able to visually observe the processes of waste sorting, placement and neutralization.

It should be noted that this initiative is part of the continuous activity of COP29 volunteers aimed at increasing public awareness of climate change problems and their solutions, as well as the role of collective and joint action in this direction.
