Birbank expands inclusive banking opportunities: Sign language service now available in branches

The country's first digital bank is expanding its inclusive service opportunities for hearing and speech-impaired customers. Thus, following the creation of the "Sign Language Video Call Service" in the "Birbank" mobile application last year, it is now possible to receive services in Sign Language at selected branches of the bank.

Currently, this service is available at the Absheron, Gara Garayev, Sahil, Binagadi, "Ganjlik Mall" and Ganja city branches of "Birbank" in Baku. In total, about 20 employees of the bank have undergone special training in Sign Language and acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to communicate directly and comfortably with customers.

It should be noted that last year, Birbank launched the "Sign Language Video Call Service" in the "Birbank" mobile application for hearing and speech-impaired people for the first time in the banking sector of Azerbaijan within the framework of the "Barrier-Free Banking" project. With the expansion of the project, customers with hearing and speech impairments can now conveniently benefit from banking services through both digital channels and physical service points. Currently, the bank has about 3,000 customers with hearing and speech impairments. With this initiative, Birbank continues to make financial services more accessible to everyone, create equal service opportunities and contribute to the development of inclusive banking experience. In the future, it is planned to further increase the number of branches providing services in sign language.
