The 4th National Cybersecurity Forum was held at the initiative of the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan. As one of the leading drivers of Azerbaijan’s digital transformation, Azercell Telecom LLC supported the event as its Platinum Sponsor.
The forum, which contributes to the development of the national cybersecurity ecosystem, served as an important platform for sharing international experience, discussing innovative approaches, and fostering new cooperation opportunities. During the event, participants exchanged views on emerging cyber threats in the era of digital transformation, the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on the field, and modern defense mechanisms.
The forum brought together representatives of government institutions, the private sector, international experts, and leading technology companies.
During the panel discussion titled “Cyber Challenges in Digital Transformation,” Mais Sharifli, Head of the Cybersecurity Department at Azercell Telecom LLC, shared real-world and practical results achieved through the use of artificial intelligence in the company’s cybersecurity infrastructure. He noted that Azercell currently provides more than ten different cybersecurity services to corporate customers.
It was stated that Azercell is the first telecommunications company to implement an AI architecture for cyber threat detection and the centralized management of a digital security ecosystem. Mr. Sharifli emphasized that the level of alignment between decisions made by cybersecurity analysts and those generated by AI systems has now exceeded 95%.
AI-powered technologies operate continuously, significantly increasing the speed and efficiency of operational processes. In some cases, they reduce process execution times by up to 40 times compared to traditional approaches. At the same time, these technologies create substantial opportunities for processing and analyzing large volumes of data, as well as for the timely identification of potential threats.
It should also be noted that Azercell is developing its cybersecurity activities in line with the “Information Security and Cybersecurity Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2023–2027” and continues to implement initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s digital resilience.
