"Azerbaijan Business Case Competition 2026" successfully concluded with the support of "Bir"

The final stage of the Azerbaijan Business Case Competition (ABCC) 2026, sponsored by "Bir Ecosystem", which places innovation and sustainable development at the center of its activities, has been successfully concluded. This project, which is one of the most influential platforms in the country in preparing young people for a real business environment and developing human capital, plays an important role in discovering new talents for local and global markets.

The final stage of the competition, organized by the U.S.-Educated Azerbaijani Alumni Association (AAA) and aimed at developing business analytics, strategy building, as well as financial analysis skills among students, was held on April 5, 2026.

Strategic investment in human capital

The guests who spoke at the official opening ceremony of the event, including representatives of "Bir Ecosystem", specifically emphasized that such large-scale initiatives are not just a competition, but also one of the main cornerstones for the formation of a competitive ecosystem in the country. As an "ecosystem", revealing the potential of young people and training them as professionals who meet global standards is an integral part of the organization's long-term corporate strategy.

The path from 100 teams to the top

As part of the intensive project that started with 100 teams in January, 26 teams that successfully passed the interviews were involved in the "Business Academy" and ABCC sessions and participated in professional training, 12 of which qualified for the semi-finals, and the four strongest teams qualified for the decisive final stage.

In the final stage, innovative and strategic business solutions developed by young talents were presented to a jury of experts. At the end of the intense and interesting competition, team number 25 representing ADA University was awarded the first place and a cash prize of 8,000 AZN. Team number 49 of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) took second place and a prize of 4,000 AZN, and team number 11 of the same higher education institution took third place with a prize of 2,000 AZN.

Founded in 2002 and with rich traditions, this project has become an important platform for the development of young people. "Bir" believes that investment in education and innovation is the most reliable guarantee of a sustainable future. The company, together with a global network of investors and partners, will continue to contribute to the formation of a knowledge economy and competitive human capital in Azerbaijan.

Samir Mammadov has been appointed CEO of Birmarket, one of the country's largest e-commerce platforms. He previously headed PashaPay, a fintech startup engaged in the development of Azerbaijan's first large-scale electronic payment systems.

The "Bir ecosystem" unites the country's leading brands "Birbank", "Birmarket", "m10", "Milliön" and "Bir Bonus" under one umbrella. At the same time, the ecosystem enriches the customer experience by cooperating with joint ventures such as "Trendyol" Azerbaijan and "BakıKart". Thanks to this integration, customers benefit from QR payments in the partner network and in public transport, credit purchases through Birbank in Birmarket, payments with Birbank installment cards in Trendyol Azerbaijan, a unified bonus program and many other innovative solutions. All these opportunities are built on the four main concepts of the ecosystem - "Single login", "Single bonus", "Single payment" and "Single credit" platforms, providing customers with fast, convenient, profitable and secure service.
