Achievements obtained through support and determination: children of our heroes at international olympiads

A wide audience has already become acquainted with the stories of Azerbaijani schoolchildren who were awarded gold medals at the IMEC and TIMO international Olympiads.

Thanks to the support of “McDonald’s Azerbaijan”, the participants were able to travel to the international stages of the competitions and represent our country worthily.

After returning to Baku, a cordial, informal meeting was organized for the young champions in one of the “McDonald’s” restaurants.

The meeting was also attended by Farid Alizadeh, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “McDonald’s Azerbaijan” and Elnur Mammadov, Head of the Project Management Department of the State Social Protection Fund.

We talked to the children’s parents to learn more about the children’s preparation for the competitions, their path to victory, and the support they received on this path.

“He kept his promise to his father”

Araz Shadmanzadeh became the absolute champion of the IMEC (International Mathematics Examination Competition) International Mathematical Olympiad.

After successfully participating in the selection round held in Baku, he went to the finals held in Sydney. Araz, who completed all the tasks in the final stage in just 18 minutes and 22 seconds, scored the maximum points and managed to surpass 64 participants representing 15 countries.

McDonald’s Azerbaijan organized a meeting for Araz and other participants who returned to Baku. During the meeting, company representatives congratulated the schoolchildren on their victory and presented them with souvenirs.

It should be noted that McDonald’s Azerbaijan, as part of its long-term cooperation with the State Social Protection Fund, supported the participation of 58 children from families of martyrs and veterans of the Patriotic War in the international TIMO and IMEC Olympiads, and covered all travel expenses for students who successfully passed the selection stages.

As a result, 14 schoolchildren won prestigious awards at the national level, and two of them - Araz Shadmanzadeh and Nazli Alakbarzadeh - successfully represented Azerbaijan in the international arena.
