32 AI-controlled teams competed on a virtual soccer field
This time, artificial intelligence made the decisions on the soccer field. In the “AWS Agentic Football Cup” tournament, held with the support of Azercell and organized by the “AWS User Group Baku,” artificial intelligence agents developed by 32 teams faced off in virtual soccer matches.
With the mentorship of experts from Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the world's leading technology companies, participants have created virtual soccer teams consisting of five artificial intelligence agents. These agents analyzed the game situation and made decisions regarding passing, offense, and defense. The participants analyzed the match results to improve their programs and game strategies. Throughout the tournament, mentors supported the teams in improving their technical approaches and using cloud technologies.
The tournament has been an effective platform for students, engineers, and individuals interested in technology to gain new skills and exchange experiences. By combining a soccer competition with programming, this format has allowed participants to see the results of the code they write directly in the game. They tested how artificial intelligence agents react to changing situations, gaining hands-on experience in developing agent-based solutions and deploying them on the AWS cloud platform. At the end of the competition, three winners were determined.
By supporting this project, Azercell promotes the development of knowledge and skills in the field of artificial intelligence in the country. The goal is to strengthen the local technology community and support the training of specialists who will play an active role in the development of Azerbaijan's digital ecosystem.
