"Unibank" planted 500 trees to support the environment

Unibank, which is guided by ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles in its activities, has taken another step in terms of supporting the national priority of our country "to become a country of clean environment and green growth". 500 trees were planted by the bank in the territory of Mushfigabad settlement. Bank employees planted Eldar pine and olive seedlings on an area of about 1 hectare. "Eco Hub" Environmental Initiatives Support Public Union gave the organizational support to the tree-planting action.
Both tree species are considered important in terms of improving air quality and impact on the environment. So, one olive sapling absorbs about 1-5 kilograms of carbon per year, and one Eldar pine sapling absorbs 1-4 kilograms of carbon. At the mature stage, this number of olive and pine trees have the potential to absorb 6-8 tons of carbon per year and more.
It should be noted that in accordance with the new development strategy, green project financing is being carried out by "Unibank" in the direction of mitigating climate changes. The bank has already issued bonds according to green financing criteria by an independent international appraiser. These bonds issued to finance green projects aim to contribute to sustainable financing and green growth by supporting climate change mitigation measures.
