“Unibank” organized educational seminars for university students on the topic of “Sustainability in Banking: Risks, Profitability and Social Responsibility”.
In total, more than 50 students participated in the events organized by “Unibank” Sustainability Manager Samra Talyshinskaya-Abbasova for ADA and UNEC students.
The seminars provided extensive information on the basic concepts of sustainable finance, climate change and our country’s climate agenda, development prospects of sustainable finance in the global and local context, and role of the banking sector in this area. At the same time, the exceptional role of banks in the fight against sustainable economic development and climate change, the new reality and future trends brought by sustainable finance for banks, integration of ESG (Environmental, Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance) principles into banking activities, and international trends in this direction were discussed.
At the end of the seminars, the students’ questions were answered and certificates were presented to the participants.
For Unibank, raising awareness of sustainable finance is one of the key directions of the bank's strategic sustainability vision in the long term. Such educational initiatives are also Unibank's contribution to the country's sustainable development goals as a responsible corporate organization.
