The "INUzbekistan" event took place in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on July 16, as part of the "INMerge" Innovation Summit, which aims to become an international innovation platform.
The event, organized in partnership with the Uzbekistan Information Technology Park, highlighted the importance of cross-border partnerships for innovation-based and scalable development in Central Asia, Caucasus and Middle East.
The official opening ceremony of the event was attended by Abdulahad Kuchkarov, Executive Director of the Uzbekistan Information Technology Park, Temurbek Sadinov, Head of International Relations of the Park's "Startup" section, and Tugra Musayeva, Head of Innovations at PASHA Holding. The closing speech of the event was delivered by Olimjon Umarov, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan.
One of the highlights of the "INUzbekistan" event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between PashaPay and the Uzbekistan Fintech Association. This document reflects a joint commitment to development of fintech sector and strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems in Uzbekistan and beyond.
The event’s agenda included a keynote address, “The Invisible Wall: Overcoming Biases in Innovation,” an interactive fireside chat, and two panel discussions.
The first panel, “Building Fintechs Across Borders: Scaling Innovation Across Markets,” discussed how regional fintech companies can expand internationally and accelerate their growth.
The second panel, “Capital Meets Innovation: Unveiling Smart Investments for Early-Stage Startups,” brought together investors and ecosystem leaders to exchange ideas on how to raise and effectively deploy capital to support the next generation of startups in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
The event concluded with a startup competition. Early-stage projects were pitched to a panel of investors and experts. The winning team will have the opportunity to attract the attention of international investors and compete for a $30,000 prize in the main stage of the "INBattle".
It should be noted that the "INMerge" Innovation Summit, organized by "PASHA Holding", will be held in Baku on September 29-30 this year and will bring together more than 1,000 founders, investors, corporate leaders and policymakers from more than 30 countries. The two-day summit will provide participants with high-level speeches, panel discussions, startup competitions and networking opportunities. These events aim to promote the development of innovations in the Caspian and Central Asian regions, increase investments and strengthen regional cooperation.
