As part of a partnership between the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHİK) and the Ministry of Health, the “Healthy Future” (“Sağlam gələcək”) social project has been launched.
The project aims to support the protection of women's reproductive health, raise awareness about the importance of preventive medical examinations, and implement educational initiatives promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Within the framework of the project, the first event on the topic “Women’s Health and Reproductive Well-being” was organized by AHİK and its member organization, the Republican Union of the Trade Union of Agricultural, Ecology, and Water Management Workers.
Representatives of government agencies and public organizations, healthcare experts, as well as employees of AHİK and its member organizations participated in the event.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Musa Mirzayev, Deputy Chairman of AHİK, spoke about the consistent measures implemented in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev aimed at improving the population’s quality of life and forming a healthy family model. He emphasized that the social and humanitarian projects initiated by First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva make a significant contribution to the protection of maternal and child health, as well as to the development of human capital.
It was noted that promoting a healthy lifestyle is one of the priority directions of AHİK’s activities. The “Healthy Future” project is an integral part of this work and is aimed at increasing awareness about risk factors affecting women’s health, encouraging preventive medical examinations, and supporting the early detection of diseases.
Ramik Guliyev, Head of Department at the Ministry of Health; Sitara Ahmadova, Director of the Shuvalan Child and Family Support Center under the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs; and Sabina Babazada, Head of the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health, spoke about the importance of protecting women’s health in terms of sustainable societal development, strengthening the healthy family institution, and ensuring demographic stability.
Afterwards, medical experts and specialists delivered educational presentations on the topics: “Breast health: key points every woman should know”, “Protecting women’s health: prevention and early diagnosis of pathologies in reproductive organs”, “The impact of stress on reproductive health”, and “Reproductive health: choice, life, and demographic sustainability”.
