“Sounds of Films”: The next cultural project of “Qala Insurance” and “Qala Life Insurance”

Azerbaijani culture is characterized not only by mugham music, ancient crafts and architectural heritage, but also by a rich school of cinema that has shaped the visual thinking of entire generations. Azerbaijani films created in the 20th century have become an integral part of the national memory. Along with visual images, one of the most important elements of local cinematography has always been music, melodies and songs have strengthened dramaturgy, created an emotional background and turned ordinary scenes into symbolic moments. Each frame of old Azerbaijani films is a document of an era and should be preserved with the same sensitivity as other cultural values.

Adhering to the corporate social responsibility policy and established traditions, the companies “Qala Insurance” and “Qala Life Insurance” continue to support new initiatives aimed at the preservation and development of Azerbaijani art and culture. As part of the next implementation of these initiatives, the companies have already organized the second exhibition - this time the project “Sounds of Films”. The opening of the exhibition took place on December 19, 2025 at Zaman Art Gallery creative space.

Demonstrating their support for art and cultural heritage, “Qala Insurance” and “Qala Life Insurance” have attracted the talented Azerbaijani artist Maryam Kiblayeva to this project. The artist created graphic works based on fragments from “Arshin mal alan”, “Gaynana”, “O olmasin, bu olsun” and other classic Azerbaijani films. These were frames that became symbols in the memory of generations. After being transferred to graphics, they gained a new life.

The organizers of the project have included these examples of art in their next calendar for 2026. Interestingly, a QR code is placed next to each image in the calendar. By scanning this code, it is possible to listen to the corresponding melody from the film and watch the episode. Thus, the visual image combines with sound, immersing the viewer in the atmosphere of Azerbaijani cinema.

The aim of “Sounds of Films” exhibition, organized by “Qala Insurance” and “Qala Life Insurance”, is to demonstrate the value, grandeur and richness of Azerbaijani culture. This project is a vivid example of the preservation of works belonging to one art form (cinema) through another art form (graphics).

Speaking at the event, Kamal Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Qala Insurance” and “Qala Life Insurance” companies, said that taking care of the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan is not only the professional duty of museum workers and archivists, but also a national responsibility:

“This exhibition is not just a collection of graphic works. This is an exhibition about preserved values. The project draws attention to this very topic - the importance of protecting, preserving and rethinking cultural heritage so that it continues to live in new forms and for new generations. Because by preserving culture, we preserve our identity, voice and roots.”

It should be noted that “Qala Insurance” and “Qala Life Insurance” companies, which have a history of over 25 years, remain true to their traditions and consistently finance such important projects.
