“Norm” OJSC has announced its accession to the UN's Women’s Empowerment Principles.
This was announced by the company’s CEO Henning Sasse.
He said: “As one of the leading industrial companies in Azerbaijan, we confirm that we have adopted the UN's Women’s Empowerment Principles as the main pillar of responsible leadership and sustainable development.”
By joining this initiative, the company, which supports the sustainable development strategy with real steps, aims to ensure equal opportunities for women and increase their representation at all levels of the company. The company believes that more active representation of women in the cement industry will contribute to social justice, innovation, efficient production and strengthening a sustainable work environment. This step will also support increasing the interest of young women in the industry and expanding their career opportunities.
It should be noted that the Women's Empowerment Principles are an international framework developed by the UN Women Agency (UN Women) and the UN Global Compact.
