The Children’s Paralympic Games were held at the Sumgayit Paralympic Sports Complex under the Social Services Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population. The event was organized by the National Paralympic Committee with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and “Azercell Telecom” LLC.
This year, the Games were organized on a larger scale, bringing together 130 young Paralympic athletes. Participants competed across eight sports disciplines, including para judo, para table tennis, para taekwondo, para swimming, para powerlifting, para badminton, para archery, and boccia, in various categories. The event concluded with an official awards ceremony recognizing the winners.
The Children’s Paralympic Games aim to promote inclusive sports in Azerbaijan, support the physical and personal development of children with disabilities, and nurture the next generation of Paralympic athletes.
“Azercell Telecom” LLC has been supporting the Children’s Paralympic Movement since 2014. The company’s ongoing commitment has significantly expanded the reach of the National Paralympic Committee, enabling hundreds of children to engage in sports. Beyond advancing the Paralympic Movement in Azerbaijan, this initiative positively impacts children’s physical and psychological development, boosts their motivation, and encourages their active participation in society.
