"AzerGold" CJSC was awarded the "Best Partner of 2023" nomination in the environmental field

"AzerGold" Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC) was awarded by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (ETSN) in the nomination "The best partner supporting environmental projects within the framework of corporate social responsibility".

Khayyam Farzaliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, accepted the nomination presented by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Mukhtar Babayev, on behalf of the Joint Stock Company.

At the event, other business subjects and non-governmental organizations, which attach importance to environmental health, biodiversity and ecosystem restoration, implement projects in this direction, and take initiatives in the field of environmental education, were awarded.

It should be noted that "AzerGold" CJSC contributes to economic development as one of the main exporting state companies in the leading ranks in the non-oil sector of our country with its activities in the field of mining, constantly keeps in mind the goals of sustainable development in the areas of responsibility, and consistently takes environmental protection measures and provides systemic support.

It should be noted that last year, the joint-stock company implemented a project of reproduction of rare and endangered plant species growing in the territory of Dashkasan region, included in the "Red Book", and their reintroduction to the areas where they historically grew. As part of the ecological project, which started in 2021, endangered plants were discovered and their seeds were collected from the mountains around the "Chovdar" gold mine located in Dashkasan region. Within 1 year, those seeds were sorted, dried with appropriate drugs and grown in the experimental field. The result is "Rosa zangezura Jarosch." (Zangazur rosehip), "Rosa nisami Sosn." (Nizami rosehip) and other rare plants were propagated in the areas where they were grown historically. Information on rare plant protection measures was included in the new - 3rd edition of the "Red Book" of the Republic of Azerbaijan, published last year.

At the same time, the CJSC continued its contribution to environmental protection measures with the tree planting, greening and riverside cleaning campaigns it carried out in the production regions last year.
