An environmental awareness event titled “Waste-Free Nature, Rich Biodiversity” (“Tullantısız təbiət, zəngin biomüxtəliflik”) was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources on the occasion of July 3 – International Plastic Bag Free Day and July 5 – the anniversary of the establishment of Shirvan National Park.
Representatives of the Ministry, ASAN Volunteers, eco-volunteers, students of Khazar University, and teachers and students of Secondary School No. 4 named after Alovsat Eynullayev in Bilasuvar region participated in the event.
Environmental training sessions, interactive activities, thematic master classes, and a quiz were organized for participants, while drawings and handicrafts related to the topic of waste were also displayed.
During a safari tour held as part of the event, participants became closely acquainted with the rich biodiversity of Shirvan National Park and had the opportunity to observe gazelles in their natural habitat.
The main purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the negative environmental impacts of single-use plastic bags, promote sustainable consumption habits, responsible tourism, and waste-free travel approaches.
