An educational training session for journalists was held on the occasion of Agricultural Workers' Day
An educational training session for journalists was held at the Imishli Sugar Plant on the occasion of November 1 – Agriculture Workers' Day, as part of cooperation between the Agrarian Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture and Azersun Holding.
The main objective of the training was to provide media representatives with a more detailed understanding of the priority areas of the “State Program for the Development of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030,” enhance their knowledge and awareness of the agricultural sector, and contribute to the accurate and comprehensive communication of the program's goals and objectives to the public.
In accordance with the training program, the first speaker was Rza Mammadov, Head of the Public Relations Department at Azersun Holding, who briefed participants on the holding's activities, key areas of operation, and work related to agriculture and the food industry. He also highlighted the importance of agricultural production and processing and their role in the development of the agricultural sector.
During the training, Rashad Mehdizadeh, Director of the Agrarian Training Center of the Agrarian Services Agency, provided a detailed overview of the main provisions and priority areas of the “State Program for the Development of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030.” His presentation covered issues such as the establishment of an agricultural information and advisory system, the expansion of integrated plant protection measures, detection of harmful organisms, improvements to technical inspections of agricultural machinery, and enhancement of livestock breeding quality.
Another important part of the program focused on explaining agricultural terminology and concepts. Murtuzali Hajiyev, Head of the Public Relations Sector and Press Secretary of the Agrarian Services Agency, delivered a presentation titled “Enhancing Media Representatives' Knowledge of the Agricultural Sector: Agricultural Terms and Concepts.”
The presentation emphasized the importance of correctly understanding and using agricultural terminology, ensuring the accuracy of information, and adopting a professional approach when preparing agricultural news reports.
At the end of the training, an agricultural knowledge quiz was organized to help participants better understand the topics covered and assess the knowledge they had gained.
