AccessBank successfully implements the "Access2Success" project supporting women's entrepreneurship for the third time

AccessBank, which has always supported the development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, announces the successful completion of “Access2Success” project, which it implemented for the third time to support women’s entrepreneurship. The project was implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which attaches great importance to the development of individual entrepreneurship in our country.

This year, 50 women participated in “Access2Success” project and had the opportunity to expand their professional skills in areas such as business management, sales and marketing, emotional management, leadership skills, and legal aspects of successful business. The trainings were conducted by experienced and highly qualified specialists in their fields.

“We are proud of “Access2Success” project, which we have successfully implemented for the third time and which has brought tangible benefits to women entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan. I would like to note that approximately 20 percent of AccessBank’s loan portfolio consists of loans granted to women entrepreneurs who have proven themselves as reliable borrowers. The “Access2Success” project is implemented annually and our goal is to continue the development of women’s entrepreneurship and provide equal opportunities for business development. We are confident that this project will play an important role in creating a strong entrepreneurial environment and contribute to the country’s economic development,” said Davit Tsiklauri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AccessBank.

“The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has approved the Strategy for 2025 in Azerbaijan, aimed at diversifying the economy, developing a competitive private sector, transitioning to a green economy and improving regional relations. One of the priority areas is to support businesses led by women and youth. Given that only 23 percent of entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan are led by women, we see serious potential for increasing their contribution to the economy. In this context, our cooperation with AccessBank on training business skills for women entrepreneurs is important,” said Serpil Chetinchift, Regional Head of the EBRD’s SME Finance and Development Group, Turkiye and Azerbaijan.

The first Access2Success project was launched in 2022 and about 250 candidates applied for participation. Of these, 53 people who met the requirements participated in the training. The next “Access2Success-2” project was implemented in 2023. 50 women selected from more than 250 applications participated in this project. Participants represented sectors such as consulting, tourism, education, and healthcare. The 5-week “Access2Success” project provided training to women entrepreneurs on strategic business development, crisis management, reporting to government agencies, sales, marketing, e-commerce, human resources management, and business control.

“Access2Success” aims to help women overcome barriers to financial accessibility, limited business knowledge, and professional development. The program will continue to provide participants with the resources and knowledge they need to successfully manage their businesses and build strong business networks every year.
