A new institution has been opened in Shamakhi to improve the social well-being of mothers from low-income families

A new social enterprise has been put into operation in Goylar village of Shamakhi region within the framework of “Support to the Social Development of Single Mothers II” project, implemented with the financial support of “PASHA Holding”, the State Employment Agency, Shamakhi Region Executive Power, Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and “Social Integration of Boarding School Graduates” Youth Public Union.

The opening ceremony was attended by Etibar Muradli, Deputy Head of Shamakhi Region Executive Power, Ramal Guluzade, Deputy Chairman of the State Employment Agency, Bayim Ibrahimova, Representative of the Department of Relations with State Institutions and Corporate Social Responsibility of “PASHA Holding”, Javanshir Maharramov, Regional Coordinator of KOBİA for the Mountainous Shirvan Region, Araz Ahmadov, Chairman of the “Social Integration of Boarding School Graduates” Youth Public Union and other officials.

It was noted at the event that a selection was made among mothers raising their children alone and from low-income families in the region. The selected mothers were involved in vocational training by the State Employment Agency, and with the financial support of "PASHA Holding" the necessary equipment for production was provided to those who joined the project, and a new social sewing enterprise was established. The sale of the products produced by the enterprise is supported by KOBİA.

The main goal of establishing the enterprise is to prevent unemployed single mothers from giving their children to state children's institutions, to increase their social well-being and to create sustainable employment opportunities. The project also opens up wide opportunities to strengthen the active participation of single mothers and low-income families in social life, to plan and coordinate women's economic and social initiatives, as well as to develop their entrepreneurial activities.

It should be noted that within the framework of the "Support to the Social Development of Single Mothers I" project, the number of employees in the first sewing enterprise operating in Shamakhi region was increased from 10 to 18 people. As a continuation of the project, a new social enterprise established in the village of Goylar will provide employment to 20 people. The target is to provide employment to up to 100 women in Shamakhi region.
