The "Yango Azerbaijan" educational program for girls has been launched in Lankaran: "Future Skills Academy - Lankaran"
The official launch of the "Future Skills Academy - Lankaran"—a free, six-month educational program designed for young women aged 18–25 from Azerbaijan's southern region—has taken place at the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center. Having successfully passed the selection process, 100 participants have already begun training in digital skills, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and other applied fields.
The project is being implemented through the collaboration of Yango Azerbaijan, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (İRİA), the State Agency for Vocational Education, and the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center.
Member of the Parliament Fariz Ismayilzadeh and other distinguished guests attended the official opening ceremony.
Practical skills for a digital career
Training sessions will be held on weekends at the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center until March 2027. The training will be conducted by leading experts from ADA University. As part of the program, mentors from the international company "Yango Group" and experts from the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (İRİA) will provide professional support to participants in their respective fields.
The program focuses on skills that participants can apply to their education, job searches, or development of their own projects. The areas of study include artificial intelligence and "VibeCoding," data analysis, digital marketing, project management, design, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career preparation, as well as tourism and hospitality—taking into account the specific opportunities of the Lankaran region.
Through the "VibeCoding" module, participants will be introduced to AI tools that enable them to progress from an initial idea to a digital prototype without requiring traditional programming experience. Other modules will cover working with data, the fundamentals of creating and promoting digital products, developing business ideas, and preparing for entry into the labor market.
By the end of the course, participants will have developed their own projects and built portfolios that position them to secure employment at technology companies or launch their own businesses.
Synergy between the state, academia, and business
At the opening of the event, Fariz Ismayilzade, a Member of the Parliament, spoke about the strategic importance of developing human capital outside Baku:
"When I was elected to the Parliament representing Lankaran, I set a goal for myself: to secure as many high-quality educational opportunities and international projects as possible to pave the way for our youth in the region. Today, thanks to state support, a high-level vocational education infrastructure has been established here, and through our partnership with the international company 'Yango Group,' we are attracting top-tier instructors and experts. We are striving to equip young women in Lankaran with the skills most in demand in the economy—specifically IT, digital media, and artificial intelligence."
Simnar Mammadov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Vocational Education, noted that young people's interest in modern specializations is growing:
"While women accounted for 37 percent of admissions to vocational education institutions nationwide in the 2024/2025 academic year, that figure has now reached 40 percent. However, the trend at the Lankaran center is particularly noteworthy: whereas in 2022 young women there were studying in only eight specializations, they are now pursuing studies in 32 fields—with young women constituting an absolute majority in 19 of them. According to World Economic Forum data, vocational and practical education is a key tool for bridging the global gender gap. Yango Azerbaijan's initiative provides young women with real opportunities to achieve financial independence, acquire practical vocational skills, and gain confidence in their future."
"Yango's" contribution to the development of local communities
For "Yango Group," this program represents a continuation of the company's activities in Azerbaijan within the framework of educational and technological initiatives aimed at developing digital skills and local talent. Addressing the participants, Mushvig Hasanov, Head of "Yango Azerbaijan," highlighted the company's key objectives:
"Azerbaijan is a key market for 'Yango Group,' and we have come here as a long-term, reliable partner to the community. We believe that opportunities for progress and development should not be limited to Baku but should extend to every region of the country. Modern technologies create new opportunities only when people know how to use them and turn them into real-world projects. I am confident that among the participants of the Lankaran program, there are individuals who will go on to build their own technology businesses or lead large-scale digital projects within our team in a few years."
The official opening concluded with a meeting between the participants and the program's experts and partners. The coming months will be dedicated to practical modules and project work. The "Future Skills Academy - Lankaran" program is scheduled to conclude in March 2027.
