The project "Ecoinnovators: Ecological technologies and social entrepreneurship camp for youth" begins

“İRƏLİ” Public Union launches the “Ecoinnovators: Ecological Technologies and Social Entrepreneurship Camp for Youth” project with the support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations.

The Public Union informed that as a result of the declaration of 2024 by President Ilham Aliyev as the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World”, state-level events, panel discussions on environmental issues, as well as numerous projects, campaigns, and infotours to educate young people on ecology have been implemented in our country. In particular, among these events, COP29, hosted by Azerbaijan in 2024, presented our country as one of the leaders in the fight against climate change and created broad opportunities for young people to actively participate in this process. The “Ecoinnovators” project also aims to contribute to the global legacy of COP29 by providing young people with the opportunity to participate in climate policy, develop green startups, and improve their leadership skills in the field of ecological innovations.

The “Ecoinnovators” project targets young people aged 16-29 and aims to inspire them to provide creative solutions to environmental problems, develop their skills in green technologies and social entrepreneurship, and empower them to lead sustainable initiatives in their communities through education and practical tools. The camp, which will be held in Sheki and Ismayilli regions, will provide 25 young leaders with intensive training in eco-technologies, climate change adaptation and social entrepreneurship. They will gain practical experience and develop plans to lead sustainable initiatives in their communities.

The project will reach more than 6,000 people with environmental awareness campaigns over two years. Clean-up campaigns, tree planting events and educational content shared on social media will create change in local communities. After the camp, participants will train about 1,000 young people in their regions and try to launch at least 10 sustainable community initiatives. The long-term goal of the project is to create a network of youth leaders and expand the culture of environmental responsibility.
