The country’s leading corporate financial institution, PASHA Bank, continues to support important projects implemented to clear the liberated territories from mines.
This year, the Bank donated two more specially trained mine detection dogs to the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA). The dogs, named “Inam” and “Umid”, are Belgian Malinois, and have successfully completed a special training program in accordance with international standards and will soon participate in mine clearance operations in Fuzuli region.
According to the Chairman of the Board, CEO Javid Guliyev, PASHA Bank, as the leading corporate bank of our country, is proud to provide not only financial services that contribute to the development of the economy, but also support social projects that are of strategic importance to our society.
“The clearance of the liberated territories from mines, their revival and flourishing with development and progress is an important step. We believe that this initiative, which we have implemented as a responsible corporate citizen, will contribute to building a safer, more sustainable and prosperous future for Azerbaijan,” said J. Guliyev.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANAMA Samir Poladov emphasized the special importance of the support provided by PASHA Bank to the humanitarian demining activities.
“We are grateful to PASHA Bank for its support to the humanitarian demining activities aimed at the reconstruction of the liberated territories and the safe return of former internally displaced persons to their homelands. Use of mine detection dogs in this process is one of the most effective methods,” S. Poladov noted.
It is worth noting that PASHA Bank also contributed to the delivery of 30 specially trained mine detection dogs to Azerbaijan in 2021, within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ANAMA and the Marshall Legacy Institute (MLI) of the United States.
