Nearly 300 kg of batteries collected at “Araz” stores last year

The “Araz” supermarket chain, part of the Veysəloğlu Group of Companies, continues its active participation in the “Submit Batteries, Protect Nature” project implemented by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Red Hearts Foundation.

Within the framework of the project, a total of 21 kg of used batteries were collected at the “Araz” branch located on Huseyn Javid Avenue in the Yasamal district and handed over to the “Waste Management Center” LLC for disposal.

The main objective of the project is the safe collection of unusable electric batteries, their disposal under special conditions, as well as increasing public environmental responsibility and strengthening awareness on proper waste management.

It should be noted that in 2025, nearly 300 kg of used batteries were collected at “Araz” supermarkets and SPAR branches in total and delivered to the “Waste Management Center” LLC for disposal. Currently, collection boxes for used batteries are installed at the company’s head office and in 29 branches.
