Memorandum of cooperation signed between PASHA Bank and the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater

PASHA Bank contributes to the preservation of national opera art on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyov. The Bank has allocated a donation to support the project to restore the opera “Koroğlu” by the founder of modern Azerbaijani professional music art and national opera, the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov, whose 140th anniversary is celebrated this year.
The country's leading corporate financial institution PASHA Bank continues its initiatives to protect and promote the national cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
The press release issued by the Bank states that within the framework of these initiatives, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Bank and the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater on July 9, 2025.
Based on a memorandum signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank, Javid Guliyev, and the Director of the Theater, Yusif Eyvazov, PASHA Bank has allocated a donation to support the project to restore the opera "Koroğlu" by the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov, the founder of modern Azerbaijani professional music and national opera.
At the event dedicated to the signing of the memorandum, Javid Guliyev noted that as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, PASHA Bank considers supporting cultural projects to protect and promote our national heritage and identity a priority.
“Our national heritage is a voice from the heart, this voice unites us and leads us into the future. It is not only music and words - this voice is an echo of the values that our memory, soul, and rich past have given us. Because our cultural heritage should not only be protected - it should be felt, shared, and continued. I am sure that PASHA Bank, which supports the restoration project of “Koroğlu” opera, which reflects values such as heroism, tolerance, and national pride, will play a bridge role in preserving the national heritage and passing it on to future generations,” emphasized J. Guliyev.
“The partnership memorandum signed today with PASHA Bank will play an important role in the development of our national opera and ballet. Our joint cooperation in the restoration of Uzeyir Hajibeyov’s opera “Koroglu” will contribute to the preservation and promotion of this unique example of our cultural heritage. On behalf of our Theater, we express our gratitude to the entire PASHA Bank team, represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Javid Guliyev, for the support provided,” emphasized Yusif Eyvazov, Director of the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
Contributing to the preservation and promotion of our national heritage is one of the main directions of PASHA Bank’s social responsibility activities. So far, the Bank has supported cultural projects such as the preparation of a collection of symphonic mughams by Fikrat Amirov, promotion of our carpet weaving art in Europe, and promotion of valuable examples of our national cinema. It plans to be active in this direction in the future and come up with new initiatives.
