"Let's protect leopards!" ecological summer camp was held

The next ecological summer camp "Let's protect leopards!" under the project "Protection of Caucasian leopards" initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union, was held in Lankaran region.

A total of 30 schoolchildren from Lankaran, Masalli and Astara regions joined the camp organized by IDEA Public Union, Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan representative of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Republican Children and Youth Development Center of the Ministry of Education within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World".

The purpose of the summer camp "Let's protect leopards!" is to educate young people of school age about the environment, to form and develop their love for nature, to inform schoolchildren living near the places where Caucasian leopard lives, about this rare species and to promote its protection.

In the camp, schoolchildren participated in seminars on protection of Caucasian leopard, people and the environment, excursions to the natural environment where leopards live, and various environmental research and competitions were conducted.

It should be noted that currently 15 Caucasian leopards live in Hirkan territory in Azerbaijan.
