Corporate social responsibility projects are a key area of Kapital Bank's overall strategic activity, and their primary goal is to foster long-term social value. These remarks were made by Arzu Aliyeva, Head of Public Relations at Kapital Bank, at a press conference held today at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, attended by the bank's management. She stated that it has been proven that if social responsibility projects result in the formation of sustainable social values, this translates into increased trust in any company, a stronger brand, and, consequently, improved business performance.
"In other words, the social projects currently being implemented and the bank's business development goals complement each other. We believe that well-formulated social initiatives bring long-term benefits to both society and business. Therefore, we base our activities on social projects, primarily in the areas of education, social inclusion, and social security. In this regard, the education sector is a priority for us," said Arzu Aliyeva.
She recalled that Kapital Bank has been supporting national science olympiads since 2017, and during this time, approximately 335,000 students have participated in these intellectual competitions, with over 3,000 students winning. The bank also supports girls' education issues starting in 2024. To this end, the "We Have a Dream" scholarship program is being implemented jointly with the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children's Affairs. As part of the project, the bank covers university preparation and tuition costs of 18 girls from low-income families living in Baku and eight regions (Gusar, Goychay, Aghjabadi, Ismayilli, Gakh, Khojaly, Gabala, and Lankaran) studying in grades 10 and 11. The program is already yielding results: last year, five girls who participated in the project were admitted to higher education institutions.
"Another of our projects, the Birbank Student Scholarship Program (Birbank tələbə təqaüd proqramı), which began in 2023, was completed last year. We saw great interest in this project. As a result, 15 scholarship recipients were selected from eight universities, and we awarded them two-year scholarships," said Aliyeva. She added that one of the most important social projects implemented by the bank last year was "Barrier-Free Banking" ("Əngəlsiz bank xidməti"). "Thanks to this innovation, we created the first service in the banking sector, 'Video Calls in Sign Language,' for our compatriots with hearing and speech impairments. Our employees were initially involved in the training. Currently, 10 of our employees have learned sign language and are serving our clients," Aliyeva said.
