IDEA organizes riverbank cleanup campaign in Masalli

Employees and volunteers of the International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA) Public Union conducted a cleanup campaign along the Vilashchay riverbank, on the section of the river flowing through the Istisu village of the Masalli district.

Equipped with necessary supplies and special attires, the volunteers removed about 1 ton of household waste, most of which constituted the single-use plastic products, severely polluting the soil and water by accumulating in ecosystems.

Organized clean-up campaigns are essential for promoting sustainability and preserving the ecological balance beyond just waste removal, as they contribute to healthier ecosystems by reducing pollution, protect human and wildlife health from the dangers of debris, foster community well-being, and strengthen environmental awareness for a sustainable future.

IDEA once again urges citizens to be sensitive and responsible towards nature for the sake of a green and healthy future, and to report any cases of environmental pollution to the IDEA Public Association via the "1113 - Emergency Assistance to Nature" hotline.
