February 2 - The "Sustainable Development Forum of Voluntary Organizations" was held in connection with the Azerbaijan Youth Day. The Union of Voluntary Organizations of Azerbaijan released information about this.
It was reported that the forum was organized by the Union of Voluntary Organizations of Azerbaijan (AKTİ) with the support of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The main goal of the forum, which brought together more than 200 Azerbaijani volunteers, was to increase the activities of member organizations by the Union, ensure their sustainable development, establish effective relations between organizations, promote the exchange of experience and implement collective projects.
The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was first played at the official opening of the forum.
The forum was attended by Azerbaijani public and political figure, deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Asif Askerov, acting Executive Director of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan Gadir Khalilov, Chairman of the Union of Voluntary Organizations of Azerbaijan Vugar Aliyev, and heads of member organizations of AKTİ, media representatives, a number of official guests and volunteers.
The officials who spoke emphasized that February 2 - Youth Day was established on the initiative of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and that this day is an indicator of the high importance attached to the youth of Azerbaijan. It was noted that volunteering activities contribute to the personal and professional development of young people, and at the same time are an important form of service to society. It was noted that the forum is an important platform for volunteer organizations to come together and for young people to exchange ideas.
At the forum, Azerbaijan Volunteer, Chairwoman of the "Migration Volunteer" Public Union Shabnam Ibrahimli and Azerbaijan Volunteer, Leading Specialist of the Information Technologies Department of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Anar Ahmadli shared their success stories and emphasized how volunteering activities are of great importance in personal and professional development. Later, young regional representatives and a group of Azerbaijani Volunteers were awarded for their effective activities at the forum. After the official part of the event ended, a musical program performed by talented Azerbaijani Volunteers was heard.
A panel session entitled “New Perspectives and Sustainable Development in the Volunteer Movement” was organized within the framework of the forum. The panel, moderated by AKTI Chairman Vugar Aliyev, featured speakers – Emiliya Bayramova, Leading Consultant of the Volunteer Work Sector of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations, AKTI Board Member, Azer Aliyev, General Director of the Youth Development and Career Center, and Adila Aliyeva, Head of the Projects and Volunteer Work Department of the “Regional Development” Public Union. They shared their views on the topics of “Sustainable Development and International Representation in Volunteering”, “Career Opportunities for Youth in the Regions” and “Current Problems and Solutions in the Regional Volunteer Movement”.
It was noted that strategies should be developed to ensure the sustainable development of volunteering activities, and steps should be taken to address problems such as lack of resources, motivation and coordination. The active participation of young people in international volunteer movements creates conditions for the international recognition of our country and wider cooperation. It is also important to expand the volunteer movement on a regional scale. Increasing career opportunities in the regions has a positive impact on the preparation of young people for their future working life and personal development. Volunteering activities are an invaluable tool for young people to gain experience and gain a competitive advantage in the job market.
