Child protection and safety in the education system - a meeting within the framework of the pilot project

A meeting was held within the framework of the pilot project "Child protection and safety in the education system - II stage" on the basis of the joint action plan of the Ministry of Science and Education and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and jointly implemented by the Institute of Education, Baku City Education Department, Lankaran-Astara Regional Education Department, Karabakh Regional Education Department and Eastern Zangezur Regional Education Department.

The main purpose of the meeting was to present information about the project, discuss the work done, exchange experience between relevant institutions and schools, and strengthen relations with the parties who play a key role in child protection and safety.

Elnur Aliyev, acting director of the Institute of Education, who made an opening speech at the event, spoke about the work done within the framework of the pilot project and wished success to those involved in the implementation of the project.

Habiba Nazirova, acting head of the Institute's Project Management Department, gave information about the project, including the main directions of activity and general statistical indicators.

Vugar Salmanov, head of the "Child Protection Program" of the UN Children's Fund, spoke about the Child Protection and Safety (CPS) mechanism and its working principles.

Kamala Alakbarova, chief inspector of the Department of Preventive Work with Minors of the Public Security Department of the Baku City Police Department, spoke about the socio-psychological factors that influence juvenile delinquency and noted the importance of timely reporting to the relevant institutions in order to prevent possible incidents.

Representatives of the schools included in the scope of the project - Yagut Sadygova, director of secondary school No. 13 of Baku city, and Shahla Ibrahimova, psychologist of secondary school No. 258 of Baku city - spoke at the event. They provided information about the work of the UMT teams, meetings held at the schools within the project, the series of events organized with the participation of students, as well as the results achieved.
