Carlsberg Azerbaijan joined the "Let's Protect the Caspian Sea!" coastal cleanup campaign

Carlsberg Azerbaijan supported cleanup operations along Azerbaijan's coastal areas by joining the "Let's Protect the Caspian Sea!" campaign as a key partner. The company has supported this initiative for seven years, demonstrating its long-term commitment to protecting the Caspian Sea.

The campaign launched on September 2, 2026, with events held in the cities of Khachmaz, Siyazan, Neftchala, Lankaran, Astara, and Sumgayit. The final cleanup event of the campaign took place on September 19 at Bilgah Beach.

Carlsberg Azerbaijan employees also contributed to the initiative by joining the effort to collect waste from coastal areas. "Khirdalan 0.0" non-alcoholic beer was offered to participants at the company's stand.

Sharing his thoughts on the initiative, Krasimir Lazarov, General Director of Carlsberg Azerbaijan, stated:

"We are pleased to support the 'Let's Protect the Caspian Sea!' campaign and to contribute to this initiative alongside the volunteers participating in the cleanup events. We extend our gratitude to our colleagues who generously gave their time and effort, to the organizers, and to everyone who contributed to this initiative. We look forward to continuing our activities within the framework of this initiative in the future.”

By participating in this initiative, Carlsberg Azerbaijan supports cleanup efforts in local coastal areas through collaboration with government agencies and other partners. This activity aligns with the environmental protection goals set out in the Carlsberg Group’s “Brewing Tomorrow” sustainability program.

Alongside Carlsberg Azerbaijan, key partners in the campaign include the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Coca-Cola, the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), EcoHub environmental platform, AmCham, Green ASAN, the ASAN Volunteers Organization, and Global Media Group.

It is worth noting that the “Let’s Protect the Caspian Sea!” initiative, held in the lead-up to International Coastal Cleanup Day, has been organized annually in Azerbaijan for 17 years. Established in 1986, International Coastal Cleanup Day is observed in more than 100 countries worldwide.
