AzerGold to support the digitalization of vocational education in the mining sector
With the support of “AzerGold” CJSC and organized by the State Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Science and Education and the company “Aspire EdTech,” a digital course for the “Mining Specialist” qualification will be introduced in Azerbaijan for the first time.
Developed based on the curriculum for the “Mining Specialist” qualification, this digital course will be available online to students and graduates of specialized vocational education institutions located in the cities of Ganja and Dashkasan.
Aimed at supplementing the traditional teaching process with digital resources, the course comprises video lessons, interactive materials, and test assignments. The program entails the creation of a total of 250 video lessons and 1,500 test assignments with the participation of “AzerGold” CJSC specialists. Students who successfully complete the course will be awarded relevant certificates approved by the State Agency for Vocational Education.
It should be noted that the digital education project also includes the development of 15 additional informative video lessons covering the professions of fitter, welder, and electrician. The aim is to increase the accessibility of theoretical knowledge regarding these professions and to contribute to the training of qualified personnel aligned with labor market demands. The digital course being developed will also serve to more closely integrate vocational training in the mining sector with modern technologies and industry practices.
It should be noted that the development of education and the strengthening of the skilled workforce for the mining industry are among the priority areas of activity for "AzerGold" CJSC. To this end, the company has been implementing a Scholarship Program for students at higher and vocational education institutions since 2021.
To date, under the program, monthly scholarships have been awarded to a total of 98 students—comprising 46 students from higher education institutions (at both bachelor’s and master’s levels) and 52 students from vocational education institutions—throughout the duration of their studies. Nineteen of the scholarship recipients are currently employed in various structural divisions of "AzerGold" CJSC.
