ASAN Volunteers, together with IDEA, organized the "Green Mountain" campaign
The 7th "Green Mountain" ("Yaşıl dağ") eco-social campaign was held as part of the "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture".
The event, hosted at Shamakhi "ASAN Life" complex, was jointly organized by the "Yaşıl ASAN" environmental program of ASAN Volunteers, the IDEA Public Union, and the "Azersun Paper and Cardboard Production Corporation".
According to the Public Relations Department of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the initiative aims to support tree preservation, nature conservation, and the maintenance of ecological balance by promoting the recycling of paper waste.
Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tahir Mammadov, Head of the Shamakhi Region Executive Power, representatives of the public from various regions and other guests attended the event.
A "Green Mountain" structure, created from over 200 tons of paper waste, was unveiled during the campaign. The event also featured a display of handicrafts and a cultural corner created by ASAN Volunteers and schoolchildren using waste materials, alongside various musical performances. Agencies, organizations, citizens, and schoolchildren from more than 30 cities and regions of Azerbaijan have joined the 7th "Green Mountain" eco-social campaign.
Over the course of 11 years, more than 2,400 tons of waste paper have been sent for recycling under the program, preventing the felling of over 40,800 trees; additionally, more than 600 environmental projects and over 200 cleanup and tree-planting campaigns have been carried out.
