On February 4 - World Cancer Day, the "Araz" supermarket chain, which is part of the "Veysaloglu Group of Companies", held a "Cancer Awareness Week" under the slogan "Araz Raises Awareness". As part of the educational week held from February 4 to 11, employees of the "Araz" supermarket chain were presented with orange collar badges. By wearing these badges, employees drew attention to the fight against cancer and demonstrated solidarity.
As part of the educational events, a seminar was organized for employees at the company's head office and "Araz" Logistics Center. During the seminar, a doctor-oncologist, clinical psychologist and other specialists provided useful information and recommendations on cancer, its psychological effects, the importance of prevention and early diagnosis. At the same time, participants' questions were answered in detail.
A blood donation campaign was also organized as part of the week. Employees participated as voluntary donors in the campaign held at the company's head office and "Araz" Logistics Center. The blood donation campaign was organized jointly with the Central Blood Bank.
As part of social responsibility initiatives, a charity fair was organized at the “Araz” Babek Superstore branch to support the provision of necessary medicines to children suffering from leukemia. Handicrafts prepared by volunteers of the “Fighting Leukemia” Public Association were presented at the fair.
It should be noted that the main goal of holding the “Cancer Awareness Week” is to draw attention to the importance of cancer prevention, early detection and timely treatment, and to increase awareness and education on the disease.
