An environmental campaign was held to mark State Sovereignty Day and World Cleanup Day
On the occasion of State Sovereignty Day (September 20) and World Cleanup Day, an environmental cleanup campaign was held at a local water body and the surrounding area, involving employees of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and "Nakhchivan Post and Telecommunications Center" LLC.
The campaign aimed to highlight the essence and historical significance of State Sovereignty Day while also answering the call of World Cleanup Day to contribute to environmental protection, the promotion of ecological responsibility, and a culture of caring for nature.
During the event, it was emphasized that sovereignty entails not merely possessing the land but also actively safeguarding it. Protecting the homeland involves the responsibility to preserve its soil, water, and nature, and to pass them on to future generations in a cleaner and healthier state.
It was noted that Azerbaijan has now fully secured its sovereignty across its entire territory. An initiative like this, carried out on State Sovereignty Day, also reflects the responsibility every citizen bear toward their land. Meanwhile, World Cleanup Day serves as a reminder that protecting nature is a shared responsibility of society as a whole, rather than the duty of individual institutions alone. As part of the initiative, cleanup operations were carried out along the shoreline and in the surrounding areas, with various types of waste collected and removed from the site.
In addition to raising awareness about environmental protection, the event fostered unity, team spirit, and a sense of social responsibility among the staff.
The Ministry plans to continue such initiatives aimed at environmental protection and the promotion of social responsibility.
