A new project is being implemented in Neftchala

The Azerbaijan Association of Accountants and Risk Professionals (ARPA) Public Union, with the financial support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations and BP Azerbaijan, has launched a new project aimed at assessing climate risks, promoting "green finance" and ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) approaches in Neftchala.

The main goal of the project is to assess the risks posed by climate change in the region, analyze the socio-economic impacts of these risks, promote the application of "green finance" tools, and support the development of climate-resilient management approaches at the local level.

Climate change is one of the important challenges today, not only for ecological, but also for economic and social development. Neftchala region, which is dominated by agriculture, fisheries, and coastal ecosystems, is considered one of the areas vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. In this regard, timely identification of risks and the formation of practical approaches to their management are of particular importance.

Gunay Shahbazova, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ARPA Public Union, emphasized the importance of the project and said: "The transition to a "green economy" in our country is a priority of state policy. In our regions sensitive to climate change, such as Neftchala, proper risk management and the application of "green finance" tools are of strategic importance in terms of both the sustainability of local entrepreneurship and environmental safety."

It is planned to implement such projects in other regions as well.
