"Zəfər" American Summer Camp has been organized for the children of martyrs

The "Zəfər" American Summer Camp has been organized for the children of martyrs through the joint initiative of the "Zəfər" Public Union for Support to Martyrs' Families and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States.

Ten children of martyrs, who are studying in English at ADA University, Khazar University, and Azerbaijan Medical University and have demonstrated outstanding academic performance, are participating in the 12-day camp.

The camp has been organized with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, sponsored by Veyseloglu Group of Companies, and in partnership with ADA University.

On July 22, the camp participants met with Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the United States, Khazar Ibrahim.

Welcoming the students to Washington, Ambassador Ibrahim emphasized the special care shown to the families of martyrs by President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva following Azerbaijan's victory. He noted that the country's leadership sets an example for everyone and inspires a strong sense of responsibility. Stressing that the children of martyrs represent Azerbaijan's future, the ambassador encouraged the students to continue honoring their country through their achievements.

Speaking at the event, Sevinc Orucova, Chairperson of the "Zəfər" Public Union for Support to Martyrs' Families, stated that all ten participants are students at Azerbaijan's leading universities. She explained that the primary goal of the camp is to familiarize them with the U.S. education system and help create new opportunities for their future career development. She added that the visit serves as a major source of motivation and will make a significant contribution to helping the students achieve their future goals.

Ambassador Khazar Ibrahim later presented the participants with certificates and gifts, and a commemorative group photograph was taken.

Participants in the "Zəfər" American Summer Camp have also had the opportunity to explore the history, art, and cultural heritage of the United States.

As part of the program, the students visited the museum featuring interactive exhibits on the history of the White House and the U.S. presidency. They also toured the Renwick Gallery, where they viewed an exhibition dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the United States and learned about the evolution of American craftsmanship. In addition, the participants walked around Lafayette Square and the White House grounds, exploring some of Washington's historic landmarks.

During their stay in Washington, the students visited the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, the Embassy of Türkiye in Washington, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the Library of Congress, the U.S. Capitol, and the Supreme Court of the United States. They also attended meetings and training sessions at the ADA University Washington Center, the U.S.–Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce, and several partner universities.

The "Zəfər" American Summer Camp, which will continue through July 26, is part of a broader series of initiatives aimed at supporting the personal and professional development of the children of martyrs, helping them realize their potential and gain international experience. The program is expected to provide participants with valuable opportunities and practical skills for their future.
